Xcaret

Xcaret(ish-car-et) is the favorite pet of a young Mayan princess. Friendly and inquisitive, when not found at her mistresses side, Xcaret, can be found high among the trees stalking the illusive Resplendent quetzal.

This semester I have the pleasure of taking wild life illustration with Terryl Whitlatch who worked with Iain McCaig on the creature designs for Star Wars Episodes 1-3. Each week we are assigned a family of animals and asked to do a cartoon version of the creature along with the orthos.
