Description
For this assignment we had to do a sample spread for a children’s book from one of the 10 passages listed. I chose this one from Cinderella:
‘Cinderella fled the ballroom as each chime returned her finery to ashes; by the time she reached the waiting carriage it was nothing but a pumpkin and the six white horses, tiny white mice. Cinderella looked down in dismay as her jeweled ball gown faded into tattered rags.’
I really enjoyed this assignment and am strongly considering doing children’s book illustration as a profession.
Medium: Watercolor, FW acrylic ink, gouache, Micron pens, Faber-Castell Polychromos colour pencils, sponges, rags and Photoshop CS2 for the text.
